Military Role and Summary: Chaplain - provides religious support to Soldiers and Families; performs religious rites & services, offer confidential counseling, and advise leaders on matters of morale, ethics, and religious climate;  oversees religious education programs & accompany Soldiers in training, combat, and during difficult times, such as hospitalization. 

I enlisted in 2001 as a Chaplain's Assistant. I was commissioned in 2006 and became a Chaplain in 2008. I deployed to Kosovo, Yuma, and Afghanistan.

 

Fondest Military Memory: My last day of drilling with the 30th Troop Command in Tullahoma, TN. I helped a Soldier with the reenlistment oath and at final formation, I was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for 7.5 years of service with 30th TC.

 

Why serve in the VFW: I am in the VFW because it is an exemplary organization where veterans from all branches & campaigns share a special bond, help out those in need, and reaches out to the community.
