John Edward Lerchen, 68, resident of Spring Hill, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.

John is preceded in death by mother, Esther Lerchen; father, Paul Lerchen; and mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin George Hartman. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan Lerchen; his three loving children, Dawn Lerchen; Damon John Lerchen (wife Sarah, grandchildren Ryan, Jack, Nola, and Cooper); Megan Crawford (husband Tod, grandchildren Landon and Trevor); and his brothers David Lerchen and Joseph Lerchen and sister, Joann Lerchen Green.

John was born Sept. 17, 1949, in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He served in the Marines and is a Vietnam Veteran. He was a believer in Christ, devoted husband, loving father to three children, and the best PawPaw there ever was to his six grandchildren that he loved so much. He worked in the construction industry as a sales/project manager for more than 25 years. John was an avid golfer and enjoyed his hobby with his family and friends. He will forever be remembered for being a positive, fun, and outgoing person that left a smile on everyone’s face.

Visitation will be held with the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home. Celebration of life will be held beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018, with Andy Hudelson officiating and with military honors at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
